How can I improve my photoshop knowledge?

I'm a new to photo photoshop and have been trying to teach myself this program. To help me with my studies, I would like to know which one of these do you all think will benefit me more? .....books, online tutorials, or take a class.

A couple of things you can do is use tutorials and search the help topic to find what you're looking for. Most of Photoshop is plain text book. So once you under the material, it will become pretty easy to understand.

I think you should also put some focus into adding effects to pictures and try out some online tutorials. This is what I tend to concentrate on when building my knowledge for Photoshop.

I would suggest that you start you a library for Photoshop. Make sure that you read them all and refer back to them when you need help.

Practice, Practice, Practice, Practice, Practice, Practice, Practice ... and um, hmm ... Practice! XD Seriously, it's the best way. Also, doing a lot of tutorials is great.

However, actually learn to take something from those tutorials and incorporate a technique into your own design. I've seen way too many copycats on deviantART who all apparently did the same tutorial and they did little [if anything] to further enhance their project.

I've actually just purschased IconResource last night because I want to further my knowledge about icon creation.

I am also experimenting with Photoshop and what has helped me most are some great ebooks and being a member of Photoshop forums such as this one.

I think photoshop classes and online tutorial will be helpful for you because both have different values and importance.

trial and error is what works for some people, while others are the type that need a class. I find that classes do not always teach you what you want to learn. So I would say trying to use an online tutorial would be a good thing.

hi,

I think you should join forums and find new tutorial and new effects and try to design them exactly and search the answer for your query on net this is enough.

Bye

try to do more, you can learn the tools from the the tutroial, also, you can know how to make the different photo effect from different filter combination,
photoshop is easy to use, but how to make more beautiful effect, the only one way is learn more tutroial from the different website,
Also, i think the class cant give you a huge of special effect. Good luck!

if you have a girl friend, you can make a lot of photohsop effect to give her, haha,
