Removing background from images

Hi,

I am designing a catalog however the photos have a background, for
example the pictures are of shoes but i can see the table the shoe is
sitting on and the background behind the shoe, is there a way to cut
the shoes out in Photoshop so the background is removed?

Thanks

I tried removing backgrounds using those tools at a friends house and could never make it remove the complete background. There were always little "bits" around the edge....

So you just want the shoes and nothing else? I know that most of my pictures when they are going to be products or something are always done on a white or a green cloth on a floor. When I save the file I remove the background so that it is transparent.

u could use a layer mask and use a brush for the shoe borders... i thinks that's the easiest wait to do with complex images
