Hi guys..
coming straight to the problem
i was trying to make a watercolour paint yesterday and wanted to make a mountain selectng the outline with the pen tool. it became a custom shape.now my point here is after i make the custom shape of the mountain should I make a new layer and work on it or use the same layer above which i have a custom shape. or should I use any other mode of the Pen tool.

truly speaking I am a bit familiar with the lasso tools never used pen tool before but saw in most of the tutorials its the Pen tool thats used and nt the lasso tool.so wanted to give it a try and get familiar with it.

Some light shed on this issue would be awesome.
